Needless to say, Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School has been very impressive to open the 2015 football season. Now it is time for the youthful Vikings to show just how much they have grown up in two weeks as a date with powerhouse Kirtland awaits in Week 3.

The Ohio High School Athletic Association has released the new football division assignments for the 2015 and 2016 postseason. Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School will participate in Division V, up from Division VI where the Vikings qualified for the postseason the past two seasons.

Friday night, August 22, was only the second scrimmage of the summer for Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School, but the Vikings appeared to be near mid-season form on offense already. The Vikings scored four touchdowns in one half of timed play and rolled past host Painesville Harvey at Jack Britt Memorial Field, 27-6.

A fantastic fall came to a close on a chilly night in Summit County for the Villa Angela-St. Joseph Vikings. After a 1-9 campaign in 2012, VASJ rebounded with a 9-win regular season this year and qualified for the Division VI playoffs.

Villa Angela-St. Joseph had its streak of scoring 50 points broken on Saturday night at Sparky DiBiasio Stadium. Unfortunately for visiting Sebring McKinley, the Vikings still had more than enough offense to continue its unbeaten start to the season after a 1-9 finish in 2012.
