  • In the news: Bill Gutbrod to be inducted into News-Herald High School Sports Hall of Fame

    Longtime St. Joseph and VASJ football Coach Bill Gutbrod will be inducted into the News-Herald High School Sports Hall of Fame. The induction will take place during a ceremony at halftime of The News-Herald Senior Bowl held on June 27 at Mayfield’s Wildcat Stadium.

    Veteran education administrator Kevin Flynt ’70 has been named Director of Admissions at Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School. Current alumni and admissions coordinator Kellie (Clinton) Watrobski ’03 has been named Associate Director of Admissions.

  • VASJ designated as high-performing school

    Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School has been validated and certified as a Member School in the national network of Schools That Can, a not-for-profit organization committed to recognizing and improving quality performance in 21st century urban education. “This designation is a tremendous honor,” said VASJ President Richard Osborne ’69.

    Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School senior-to-be Dererk Pardon is a player who has improved immensely from his freshman year to now and he is going to get better and better each year he steps on the basketball court.     We are so proud of our students and Mr. Gary Minadeo '74 for continuing the tradition of decorating veteran graves with flags for Memorial Day. This was the fourth year Minadeo has taken a bus full of VASJ students to All Souls Cemetery for the decorating.

  • VASJ robotics team places fifth in RoboBots Competition

    Congratulations to the VASJ Robotics Team for tying for fifth place out of 31 teams and winning the sportsmanship award this weekend at the RoboBots Competition at Lakeland Community College. VASJ’s robot was sponsored by Lincoln Electric and built and operated by the team comprised of Casey Timko ‘14, Ed Beuck ‘14, Nick Uitenham ‘14, Alex Vertosnik ‘16, Louis Vertosnik ’16 and John Allen ’17 and coached by Mr. Chuck Martinko.
