FACTS Information Sheet

Tuition Assistance and Scholarships

To be considered for tuition assistance, families must submit a completed financial aid application to FACTS Financial Aid. The FACTS form is available by clicking this link. No paper copies are available, everything must be filled out electronically.

Entrance Exam Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded each year to incoming freshmen based on the top scores from the VASJ Entrance Exams given in October and November. Scholarship amounts range from $500 to $3,000 and are renewable as long as the student meets certain grade point, attendance and conduct criteria.

Other Scholarships
Current VASJ students have the opportunity to be considered every year for scholarships awarded on Founders’ Day. Depending upon the scholarship, a student would complete an application or be nominated by a faculty member. Founders’ Day scholarships are funded by private donors, friends and alumnae/alumni and vary in amount.

Cleveland Scholarship and Tutoring Program or EdChoice Program

VASJ accepts qualified students enrolled in the CSTP or EdChoice Program.

Tuition Discounts

Legacy Student Discount
New and current students who are children and grandchildren of VA, SJ or VASJ graduates will receive a $500
annual discount on their VASJ tuition.

Multiple Student Discount
Families with more than one student at VASJ qualify for a $500 total tuition credit.

Referral Discount
Current VASJ families may receive a $250 credit for each family that they refer whose student enrolls at VASJ. The discount is good only for the first year of the referred student’s attendance. The family claiming the discount must be cited on the new student’s application. Referral discounts are not transferable. The family claiming the discount will receive only one (1) $250 credit per student they refer.

Catholic School Employee Discount
Students with a parent who works full-time in a Catholic education institution (Catholic elementary school, high school or college) will be eligible for a $500 discount in tuition. Families must prove employment at the Catholic school and the discount does not double if two parents work in Catholic schools.

Parent Volunteer Tuition Assistance Credits

  • Credits will be valued at an "hourly rate" of $10 per hour with the total amount earned being applied directly to the student's tuition account, after each event or activity. There will be no cash value for hours volunteered. The splitting of credits between accounts for an activity will not be permitted. The maximum total amount per student shall not exceed $750 for the 2014-2015 school year.
  • All volunteer hours are subject to verification and, in some circumstances, verification of work performed will be required, i.e., clean-up after events.
  • Volunteers must complete a verification form and have that form signed by the supervising person and/or organization at the time of the activity or event. Forms not completed at the time of the activity or event will not be counted for credit.
  • Volunteers must show up for the hours they have committed to or find a suitable replacement. "No shows" are subject to exclusion from the tuition assistance credit program.
  • Volunteers must be present for the entire time they have committed to work. No credit will be issued in the event the volunteer leaves early and does not complete the responsibilities of the activity or event.
